The city takes all day

BODY

The city takes all day.
You get four minutes back.

Three formulas, and a simple way to know which one tonight. Not by skin type — by the kind of day you had.

TL;DR
  • The city doesn't take anything from you in one go. It takes all day, in pieces.
  • By evening you're carrying one of three things: heat, emptiness, or noise.
  • Cooling is for the day that ran hot. Vital for the day that ran empty. Calming for the day that ran loud.
  • Same size, same price, same shelf. The only decision is which day you had.
  • Nothing here fixes a bad day. It ends one.

Nobody gets ruined by a city in a single moment.

It goes in increments. Four minutes standing on a platform that's warmer than the street. A lift with someone's phone on speaker. The stairs, because the escalator's out again. A meeting that could have been nothing. The walk back with a bag that got heavier somewhere around the second corner.

None of it is worth mentioning. All of it is still on you at eight o'clock.

What the day actually leaves on you

Stand still for a second when you get in and you can usually feel which kind of day it was.

Some days run hot. You're still radiating. The flat is warmer than outside. Your shirt has an opinion about the day and you'd rather not hear it.

Some days run empty. Nothing dramatic happened. You just have nothing left, and there are still four hours of being a person to get through.

Some days run loud. Not noisy — loud. Too much input, too many faces, and your skin feels like it's been listening to all of it.

Nobody has a skin type at 8pm. They have a day.

For the day that ran hot

COOLING. Thyme-led, and cold in a way that's physical rather than suggested.

Most cooling washes use menthol, which switches on your cold receptor without removing any heat — so your body warms slightly in response and the sensation is gone in ninety seconds. Ours doesn't contain any. The cold comes from a sugar-alcohol complex that absorbs heat as it dissolves, which is thermodynamics rather than signalling.

Use it when you're still running warm. It has nothing to do with the month.

For the day that ran empty

VITAL. Salted citrus — sharp at the top, warm underneath, gone before it gets sweet.

This is the one for the evening that isn't over yet. Not a stimulant and not a promise about your energy levels; a scent that arrives like cold water on the back of the neck and puts a full stop between the day and whatever's next.

Use it when you're going out again, or when you'd like to feel like you might.

For the day that ran loud

CALMING. Green tea and hinoki — the cypress they line Japanese baths with, which smells like a room where nothing is being asked of you.

Quiet, low, and slightly woody. It doesn't perform relaxation at you. It just lowers the volume of the last twelve hours by a few notches and stops there.

Use it on the nights your body clearly hasn't agreed to sleep yet.

One decision, made at the shelf in about a second.

Four things in each — wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion. Every one of them 350ml, every one the same price. There's no size to work out and no premium tier that's secretly the same liquid.

Which means the only question left is the one at the top of the table.

Three formulas, four things each. The Dock takes any of them.

What it won't do

THE HONEST BIT

None of this fixes a day. A wash is four minutes. It won't undo a bad meeting or make the flat bigger.

What it does is mark the end of one thing and the start of another — which, on the days that ran long, turns out to be most of what you wanted.

And it doesn't fly. 350ml is over the cabin liquid limit. Checked bag, or it stays home.

The questions we get

How do I choose between the three formulas?

By the kind of day rather than your skin type. Cooling for days you're still running warm, Vital for days you have nothing left, Calming for days with too much input.

Can I mix formulas?

Yes. Most people end up with two — one for most days and one for the days that go differently. The Dock takes any pouch.

Do they all come in the same size?

Yes. Every formula and every item is 350ml, which is about thirty showers.

Is Cooling only for summer?

No. It works on body temperature, not air temperature — and heating, gyms and packed transport raise body temperature all winter.

Does Cooling contain menthol?

No. The cooling comes from a sugar-alcohol complex that absorbs heat as it dissolves, so there's no menthol tingle and no rebound warming.

What's in the range?

Body wash, shampoo, conditioner and lotion, in Cooling, Vital and Calming.

The day already happened. This is just where you put it down.
